The step assembly is made from all pressure treated lumber.

The stringers of the steps are made from 2 x 12's.

The steps are made from 2 x 10's.

The hand rails are made from 2 x 4's.

The spindles are made from 2 x 2’s.

The landing assembly is made from pressure treated lumber for the framing and decking boards.

The legs are made of 4 x 4's.

The belting around the base is made of 2 x 4's.

The top frame is made with 2 x 6's, reinforced with 2 x 4's every 16" on center.

The top of the frame is covered with decking boards.

The steps and landing are then fastened with 4" lag bolts.

There are no nails used in the construction of the assembly.

All parts of the steps and landing are assumed with 2" screws for the decking boards and 3" screws for the rest of the wood.

The spindles have one screw in the top and one screw in the bottom. Pressure treated spindles have a tendency to twist over time, this reduces the tendency of breaking and cracking due to stress.
